Cop dies in Ramban road accident, 3 injured

A cop reportedly died while three others including a civilian sustained injuries after a private police vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in the Chanderkote area of Jammu Kashmir’s Ramban district.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a private Sumo allotted to police post-Rajgarh met with an accident near Power House Canal at Chanderkote. One SPO who has been identified as Swami Raj of Ghari Kumait reportedly died on the spot. His body has been shifted to district hospital Ramban.

Official sources said that two cops and a civilian injured in the accident are undergoing treatment in the hospital. They identified the injured as Selection Grade Constables Sewa Singh of Draman Rajgarh and Parvez Ahmed, a resident of Rajgarh Ramban and civilian Master Joginder Singh of Kumait village.
