Thang-Ta Championship: Talented girl from South Kashmir to participate at national level after bagging gold medal

A budding student from a Southern private school has been selected for national-level competition after winning a gold medal at the level Thang-Ta championship here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

Jasveen Kour who hails from Chattargam hamlet of Tral Sub-Division in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district overcame her opponents and easily bagged the gold medal.

The Thang-Ta state-level championship was held at Indoor Stadium near Polo Ground Srinagar.

Shortly after emerging victorious, the talented little girl was selected for the national level.

Jasveen Kaur daughter of Jasbeer Singh told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that she is on cloud nine and eagerly waiting to participate in national level championship. “I thank my parents and school teachers for their support and for having full faith in me. I didn’t let them down and hopefully will try to bring laurels to them,” she said. [KNT]
