Doda, Sep 14, KNT: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress, National Conference, and People’s Democratic Party during an election campaign rally in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday.
He accused the “three political families” of Jammu and Kashmir of perpetuating dynastic politics, which he claimed had destroyed the Jammu and Kashmir.
This is not the first time Modi accused these three families. In the past as well, he repeatedly attacked NC, PDP, and Congress.
PM Modi emphasized that the upcoming assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir was a choice between the entrenched interests of these three families and the aspirations of the region’s youth. He criticized the Congress, National Conference, and PDP for prioritizing their family interests over the development and welfare of Jammu and Kashmir.
Modi highlighted his government’s efforts to promote grassroots democracy in Jammu and Kashmir, citing the successful conduct of Panchayat, BDC, and DDC elections. He argued that these initiatives aimed to empower the youth and marginalized communities, which had been neglected by the dynastic parties.
PM Modi as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust also alleged that the “dynastic parties” had stifled new leadership and made Jammu and Kashmir “hollow from within.” He claimed that the J&K’s vulnerability to foreign powers was exacerbated by the internal decay caused by dynastic politics.
PM Modi referenced former Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s admission of being afraid to visit Lal Chowk during his tenure as Home Minister. PM Modi contrasted this with the improved security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, where he claimed that democracy had been strengthened and the rule of law had been established.
It was PM Modi’s first election rally in Jammu and Kashmir since the Election Commission of India declared the poll schedule for the erstwhile state. [KNT]
