Soz Slams Omar’s ‘Foolish’ Remark on Article 370

Srinagar, Oct 14, KNT:  Former Union Minister Prof. Saifuddin Soz has criticized National Conference senior leader Omar Abdullah’s statement that seeking restoration of Article 370 from the Modi government is foolish and that statehood is the immediate priority.

Soz argues that Omar Abdullah is wrong to prioritize statehood over the restoration of internal autonomy as enshrined in Article 370. “Why do we need statehood? The real proposition is restoration of our internal autonomy,” Soz said.

He questions Omar Abdullah’s stance, suggesting that it implies giving up on restoring autonomy just because Modi is in power. “Does he think that while Mr. Modi is on the scene, we should not raise the question of restoration of our internal autonomy?” Soz asked.

Soz emphasized that people’s strength is measured by their struggle, not its outcome, and that conscientious individuals live by their aspirations.
