Army Fires at Pakistani Drone in Poonch, Search Operation Underway

 

Poonch, Jan 22, KNT: Army troops opened fire early Wednesday to intercept a Pakistani drone that crossed the Line of Control (LoC) into the Mendhar sector of Poonch district, officials said.

The drone, detected around 1 a.m., briefly hovered near the border fence before retreating into the other side of Kashmir. Soldiers fired nearly a dozen rounds in an attempt to neutralize the aerial threat.

“Following the incident, a search operation was launched at first light to rule out any possible airdropping of weapons or narcotics by the drone,” officials added.
