Jammu, Jun 2, KNT: A bomb threat call triggered a major security alert at Jammu Railway Station on Sunday evening, prompting a swift response from Jammu Police and Railway Police. The call, later declared a hoax, was received from an unidentified number and claimed that an explosive device had been planted at the station.
Taking the threat seriously, police teams swiftly reached the spot and launched a thorough search operation in and around the railway station. The area was scanned meticulously for any suspicious objects or activity.
“Realising the sensitivity of this information, Jammu Police, along with Railway Police, acted swiftly and the whole area of the Railway Station was thoroughly searched, checked and cleared, but nothing suspicious was found,” Jammu Police said in a post on social media platform X.
The police have confirmed that no explosives or suspicious items were recovered during the search, and regular train services remained unaffected.
Authorities said efforts are underway to trace the identity of the caller who made the fake bomb threat. Further investigation is in progress. [KNT]
