Cop Posted at Ex-MLA’s House Injured in Accidental Fire, Condition Stable

 

Srinagar, July 25, KNT: A Jammu and Kashmir Police head constable was injured on Friday after his service rifle went off accidentally while he was cleaning it at the residence of former MLA Muhammad Ashraf in the Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar, officials said.

The injured policeman, identified as Head Constable Mehraj-ud-din, sustained a bullet injury in his leg. The incident occurred while he was reportedly performing routine maintenance on his service weapon.

Police sources confirmed that Mehraj was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared his condition as stable.
