Doda, Aug 9, KNT: The Principal of Government Medical College Doda has suspended a Multitasking Staff member of the Associated Hospital GMC Doda with immediate effect after his arrest in connection with a criminal case.
According to the order, FIR No. 187/2025 under Sections 333, 304, 307, 115(2), 191(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered against the employee at Police Station Doda. The college received formal intimation from the Station House Officer of the police station about his arrest and subsequent remand to police custody for five days.

The order cites Rule 31(b) of the JK Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, which stipulates that any government servant detained in police custody for more than 48 hours is deemed to be under suspension by the competent authority.

It further notes that the suspension is without prejudice to any further departmental proceedings, which may follow depending on the outcome of the ongoing investigation and trial.
