Elderly Woman Dies After Being Hit by Unknown Vehicle in Srinagar

 

Srinagar, Sept 29, KNT: A woman lost her life in a hit-and-run incident at Sanatnagar in Srinagar on Monday, officials said.

The victim, identified as 55-year-old Shar Banu, wife of Ansar Hussain Khan, originally from Jammu and presently residing at Khomani Chowk Bemina, sustained critical injuries after being hit by an unknown vehicle at Sanatnagar.

Locals and police rushed her to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar, where doctors declared her brought dead.

The body of the deceased woman was later handed over to Police for necessary medico-legal formalities.

Police have launched efforts to trace the vehicle involved in the accident. Police said a case has been registered and further investigation is underway. [KNT]
