Police fails man’s suicide bid in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 11, KNT: In a bid to end his life, a man from Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district jumped into the river Jehlum near Budshah Bridge Srinagar, however, timely intervention from police failed the bid and saved him.

Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the incident occurred on Tuesday morning. A police team from Shaheed Gunj police station rescued the man and retrieved him from the river.

The man (name withheld) has been shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where his condition is stated to be critical.
