Mother-Son Duo Injured in Gas Cylinder Leakage Incident in Shopian

Shopian, Oct 15, KNT: A mother and her son sustained burn injuries after a gas cylinder leakage triggered a fire in the kitchen of a residential house in Gagren village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday.

Officials said the injured have been identified as Suhail Ahmad Teli, son of Abdul Hamid Teli, and his mother, Fatima Begum, both residents of Gagren, Shopian. The duo received burn injuries when a leakage from an LPG cylinder led to a sudden flare-up inside their home.

Family members and locals immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where both are undergoing treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable, though they have suffered partial burns.

Authorities have urged homemakers to regularly check their LPG cylinders, pipes, and regulators for possible leaks and to ensure proper ventilation while using gas stoves indoors to avoid such accidents.
