Shopian Police Crack Theft Case Within 24 Hours, Recover Stolen Apple Crates

Shopian, Oct 21, KNT: Shopian Police have solved a theft case within 24 hours of its reporting and arrested two accused involved in stealing apple crates from a local premises in Imam Sahib area.

Police said that a case under FIR No. 31/2025 was registered at Police Station Imamsahab following a written complaint lodged by Nazir Ahmad Ganai, a resident of DK Pora. In his complaint, Ganai stated that during the intervening night, unknown thieves had stolen several apple crates from his premises.

Acting swiftly, a special investigation team was constituted to probe the case. Through technical analysis and sustained efforts, police succeeded in identifying and apprehending the accused duo involved in the theft. They have been identified as Mohd Altaf Bakshi, son of Mohd Afzal Bakshi, resident of Rambirpora, Kehribal Mattan, and Adil Gulzar Ganie, son of Gulzar Ahmad Ganie, resident of Chee, Anantnag.

During the course of investigation, police recovered the stolen apple crates along with the auto-load carrier used in the commission of the crime. Officials said the quick recovery was made possible due to coordinated efforts and timely intelligence gathering by the investigation team.

A police spokesperson said the swift resolution of the case reflects the department’s continued commitment to prompt action and professional investigation. “Shopian Police remain steadfast in their mission to curb criminal activities and ensure a peaceful, crime-free environment for all citizens,” the spokesperson added.
