Tarigami Seeks Transfer of Kashmiri Detainees, Including Shabir Shah, Back to J&K Prisons

Srinagar, Oct 29, KNT: CPI(M) leader and MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Wednesday urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to immediately take up the matter of shifting Kashmiri detainees lodged in prisons outside the Union Territory, including senior separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, back to local jails in J&K.

Raising the issue during the Assembly session, Tarigami said he had received an urgent call from Shah’s family expressing deep distress over his deteriorating health condition. “I got a call from the family of Shabir Shah, who are extremely worried and said his condition is critical. Others are like him also. I request the government to take an initiative and ensure their lodgment back to J&K prisons,” Tarigami told the House.
