Ganderbal Police Detain Teenagers Performing Stunts on National Highway
Srinagar, Nov 23, KNT: Ganderbal Police on Sunday detained nine teenagers for performing dangerous motorcycle stunts on the National Highway during a special drive conducted at Model Naka Chinar. Police said the stunts posed a serious threat to the safety of the youth as well as commuters using the highway.
During the operation, five modified motorcycles were seized for violating provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Police said the seized bikes had concealed or hidden rear registration number plates, a violation frequently used to avoid identification while performing stunts.
Officials said the apprehended teenagers will be handed over to their families after proper counselling and the execution of a good behaviour bond to ensure that such unsafe acts are not repeated.
Police appealed to parents to remain vigilant and urged the youth to refrain from life-threatening practices that endanger both personal and public safety. [KNT]
