ATOAI, SDA Discuss Roadmap to Strengthen Adventure Tourism in Sonamarg


Ganderbal, Dec 19, KNT: The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India, the national body representing the adventure tourism sector, held a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Sonamarg Development Authority Bilal Mukhtar and local hoteliers to discuss measures aimed at strengthening tourism activities in the destination.
Officials said the discussion centred on coordinated efforts to upgrade adventure tourism facilities, improve visitor services, and reinforce safety protocols for travellers. The stakeholders also deliberated on sustainable practices, long-term destination promotion, and better coordination between agencies involved in managing tourism in the area.
During the meeting, ATOAI highlighted Sonamarg’s significant potential as a leading adventure tourism hub and conveyed its willingness to work with local authorities and the hospitality sector to expand responsible tourism initiatives.

The association said that improved infrastructure, consistent safety standards, and joint promotional strategies would help position Sonamarg more prominently on the national adventure tourism map. [KNT]
