Baramulla Police Seize Illegal Forest Timber, Case Registered

Baramulla, Feb 16, KNT: Baramulla Police seized a significant quantity of illegal forest timber during a crackdown in Goigam area of Kunzer in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Official sources said acting on specific inputs, police recovered 38 window frames and seven wooden planks allegedly sourced from illicit felling and transportation. The timber was seized from the possession of the accused during the operation.

A case under FIR number 13/2026 has been registered at Police Station Kunzer under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 26 of the Indian Forest Act. Authorities said the action was taken as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal timber trade and protect forest resources in the region.
