Snowfall disrupts flight operations at Srinagar Airport, All IndiGo and Air India flights cancelled, more cancellations likely

Srinagar, Jan 27, KNT: Flight operations at Srinagar Airport were severely disrupted on Tuesday due to continuous light snowfall and adverse weather conditions, leading to large-scale cancellations of scheduled flights, officials said.
According to Srinagar Airport authorities, snow accumulation was observed on airside pavements since early morning hours, affecting safe aircraft movement. Teams from the Border Roads Organisation were deployed to carry out snow clearance operations to make operational areas fit for flight operations.
However, owing to prevailing en-route weather conditions and operational constraints, authorities confirmed that all IndiGo and Air India flights operating to and from Srinagar were cancelled for the day. Airport officials further said that additional flights were also cancelled as weather conditions continued to deteriorate.

Airport authorities said passengers have been advised to remain in contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates, revised schedules, and alternate travel arrangements. They also urged travellers not to proceed to the airport without confirmation from airlines.
