Late-Night Fire at Sariabal Damages Textile Shop

Srinagar, Feb 12, KNT: A fire incident reported from Sariabal area of downtown Srinagar late Wednesday evening caused severe damage to a textile shop, while prompt action by the Fire and Emergency Services prevented the blaze from spreading to adjoining structures.

Officials said the fire broke out in a textile outlet operating under the name Bombay Textiles and owned by Aijaz Ahmad Khan. The shop was extensively damaged in the incident.

An adjacent vacant shop also sustained partial damage due to the intensity of the flames. However, timely and coordinated efforts by fire personnel ensured that the remaining shops and the main building structure were successfully protected, averting a major tragedy in the congested locality.

The firefighting operation was conducted by Divisional Fire Officer City and Headquarters under the supervision of Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services Dr Mir Aqib Hussain, along with Mobilizing Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah.
