Swift Response by Firemen Prevents Blaze in Srinagar uptown

Srinagar, Feb 13: A possible fire incident was avertedafter Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded swiftly to an emergency call from Ikhrajpora near Radio Colony.
According to officials, multiple calls were received at the State Fire Control Room in Batamaloo, prompting immediate dispatch of a fire tender from Fire Station Gowkadal.
On reaching the spot, firemen found that a substandard geyser had overheated due to a suspected short circuit, causing dense smoke to fill the premises. The situation, officials said, had the potential to escalate if not handled in time.
