Six-Hour Power Curtailment During Ramadan Irks Inhabitants of Old Anantnag

Anantnag, Mar 4, KNT: Inhabitants of several localities in old Anantnag town have expressed resentment over prolonged power curtailment during the holy month of Ramadan, saying the situation has caused considerable inconvenience to households.

People from areas including Mattan Chowk, Danagar Pora, Cheni Chowk, Nai Basti, Iqbal Abad, Khanabal and Gujnag said electricity supply remains disrupted for nearly six hours daily despite the areas being fully metered.

The inhabitants said they are paying regular electricity bills but continue to face an erratic supply schedule, particularly during Sehri and Iftar hours when power demand is high. They termed the situation frustrating and urged authorities to streamline the supply during the fasting month.
