Cleric dies in Ganderbal road accident

A religious cleric died and three others were injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday evening.

The accident occurred in Bani Bagh Kangan area of Ganderbal district.

Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that there was a collision between a Swift car (JK16-6685) and an Alto car (JK16-548) in which four persons sustained injuries.

They said the injured were evacuated to Sub District Hospital Kangan. Among them, Molvi Qaiser Ahmed Wani son of Abdul Hamid, a resident of Fraw Gund Kangan was referred to SKIMS Soura where he succumbed to his injuries.

The injured who are undergoing treatment at SDH Kangan have been identified as Sirajuddin Mir son of Ghulam Hasan of Fraw Gund, Tariq Ah Rather son of Abdul Samad of Tulmula Ganderbal and Muhammad Shafi Sheikh son of Abdul Ahed, a resident of Saloora Ganderbal.

Police said that a case in this regard have been registered under relevant sections of law. [KNT]
