Sopore Police Crack Down on Illegal Pharmacies; Two Shops Booked

Sopore, April 28,:Continuing its enforcement drive under the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Sopore Police, in coordination with drug control authorities, conducted two separate actions against illegal pharmaceutical activities across Sopore.

During a checking operation in Ningli Bala, officials found a chemist shop operating without a valid licence, violating provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The Drug Inspector immediately sealed the premises, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the proprietor.

In a separate action in Sangrama, authorities seized a significant quantity of Pregabalin tablets stored beyond authorised limits. The shop’s licence has been temporarily suspended.

Officials stated that these actions are part of intensified monitoring to curb the misuse and illegal sale of pharmaceutical drugs. Police reiterated that unlicensed medical stores will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against violations involving controlled and psychotropic substances.
