221 cases pending against bureaucrats, politicians, police officials in Crime Branch J&K

At least 785 cases related to corruption and fraud are under investigation in Crime Branch J&K till September 2022.

Out of 785 cases, is 785, Crime Branch Kashmir is investigating 393 cases and Crime Branch Jammu is handling 392 cases.

The information provided by Crime Branch in response to a query filed by senior Journalist and social activist MM Shuja reveals that at 221 cases are pending against officials, bureaucrats, politicians, and police officials from 2017 to September this year.

The data as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that 272 cases have been challaned before the court of law.

In 2017, Crime Branch disposed off 81 cases followed by 82 cases in 2018, 79 cases in 2019, 48 cases in 2020, 120 in 2021, and 69 cases in the ongoing year. [KNT]
