Misappropriation of ration for mid-day meals: Police register case against school staff

Police seized 32 rice bags and registered a case against school staff for allegedly misappropriating rice meant for the mid-day meals for children in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A police official said that police station Khag in Budgam received information through reliable sources that the staff of Government Middle  School Shungli Pora has misappropriated rice issued by the Government for mid-day meals for students.

Police swung into action and after registering an FIR vide number 60/2022 under relevant sections of law followed by a thorough investigation seized 32 bags of rice and some records related to the issuance of ration and its use thereof.

Police said that further investigation is underway and arrests are expected in this regard. (KNT)
