Inclement Weather: Schools closed in J&K’s Ramban

District Administration Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir has issued an advisory advising people living in far-flung areas to remain alert in view of heavy rains.

As per the advisory, Deputy Commissioner Ramban has informed that in view of heavy rains, people living in the upper reaches of District Ramban are advised to remain alert and avoid venturing out.

The district administration as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust has also ordered the closure of educational institutions upto class 8 today. The directions have been issued after district witnessed heavy rainfall. The downpouring was in progress till the reports last came in.

“All Schools (Government & Private) up to middle level (Class 8) in Ramban District shall remain closed today in view of heavy rains. However, exams if any, shall be held as per schedule,” said the Deputy Commissioner.

Meanwhile, Traffic Department informed that traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway was running smoothly amid rainfall. [KNT]
