Minor’s body retrieved after 4 days from Srinagar flood channel

The body of a 7-year-old boy who had drowned in the Bemina flood channel was retrieved today after four days of a joint operation by the locals, River Police, and the team from SDRF.

Pertinently, on 18 June, Ikhlas Qayoom Ashai, a resident of Hamdania Colony Bemina drowned after slipping into a flood channel.

A River Police official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that since the incident the operation to recover the body was in progress and on Wednesday morning, the victim’s body was retrieved near Shikar Gah point.
