After a landslide, Amarnath Yatra temporarily suspended

Authorities temporarily suspended Amarnath Yatra after the Srinagar-Jammu highway was blocked due to a landslide in Ramban on Wednesday.

Official sources said that the Yatra will also be suspended from the Pantha Chowk yatra base camp to Jammu and it will be resumed after the highway gets cleared for traffic movement.

Jammu and Kashmir traffic police said that Jammu-Srinagar Highway is blocked due landslide at T2 Marog Ramban.

Traffic Police informed that Srinagar-Jammu Highway is blocked due to a landslide at T2 Marog Ramban. People are advised not to travel on the Highway without confirmation from Traffic Control Units.

The 62-day-long Amarnath Yatra, which began on July 1 will culminate on August 31, 2023. [KNT]
