Man injured in bear attack in Hajin Kralgund

A man sustained injuries in a bear attack in Hajin village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.

Reports said that the victim, identified as Javid Ahmad Peer (50) son of Sonullah Peer from Hajin village, was working in his orchards when he was suddenly attacked by a ferocious bear.

He was rushed nearby Sub-District Hospital Kralgund for treatmen where from he was referred to District Hospital Handwara.

A Wild Life officer told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the condition of the victim was stable and after the attack teams were sent to capture the wild animal. [KNT]
