Baramulla, Aug 28, KNT: The Pattan Assembly segment in North Kashmir is poised to witness a keenly contested battle in the upcoming elections, with National Conference candidate Javid Reyaz Bedar emerging as a strong contender. Bedar’s cordial relations with the people earned through his distinguished career as a police officer, have made him a popular choice among the masses.
Locals appreciate Bedar for his pro-people approach, even during his tenure as a police officer. His efforts were instrumental in securing a lead for the NC in the recent Parliament elections in the Pattan segment, surpassing the AIP and Peoples Conference. “His reputation as an honest officer has solidified his position in our Assembly segment,” a local lawyer told the news agency Kashmir News Trust.
Bedar’s impressive career spans various roles, including SSP Srinagar, SSP Traffic, SSP Baramulla, and SSP CID. Ground reports indicate a strong position for Bedar, making him a likely candidate to secure a seat in the Assembly.
Although the PDP is yet to announce its candidate, Bedar’s main contest is expected to be with PC’s Imran Reza Ansari. The Pattan Assembly segment has traditionally been an Ansari stronghold, but this time around, Bedar’s popularity and reputation may cause an upset.
“His commitment to the people and his ability to connect with them may just give him the edge he needs to win,” said a local.
As the elections approach, all eyes are on Pattan, where Javid Reyaz Bedar is poised to make a significant impact.
