Congress Boycotts Ministry Roles, Seeks J&K Statehood Restoration

Srinagar, Oct 16, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Tariq Hameed Karra announced on Wednesday that the Congress party will not be part of any ministry in the new J&K Government.

Karra’s decision comes in response to the central government’s failure to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, a promise made by the Prime Minister in public meetings.

“The Congress party has strongly demanded the restoration of statehood, but despite repeated assurances, it has not happened,” Karra said.
