Six Army Soldiers Injured in Accidental Landmine Blast Along LoC in Rajouri


Rajouri, Jan 14, KNT: At least six army personnel sustained injuries on Tuesday following an accidental blast along the Line of Control in the Makri area of the Bhawani sector in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Defense sources said that the soldiers were conducting a routine patrol near the LoC when one of them accidentally stepped on a mine, leading to the explosion.
The blast resulted in injuries to six personnel, who were immediately evacuated and transported to the 150 General Hospital in Rajouri for medical treatment.
Sources said that the injuries sustained by the soldiers are minor, and all six are reported to be in stable condition. “The soldiers were given timely medical assistance and are stable,” an official stated.
The LoC in Rajouri and surrounding districts is heavily mined as part of security measures to counter infiltration and maintain border security. [KNT]
