Ganderbal, Jun 2, KNT: Senior Congress leader and former Sadr-e-Riyasat of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Karan Singh, called upon devotees to visit the revered Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in large numbers, emphasizing the values of faith, courage, and collective revival of Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
Speaking at the historic shrine in Tulmulla area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, Dr Singh — who has been a regular visitor for over eight decades — said the temple is a divine blessing and symbol of resilience. “This sacred place holds deep spiritual significance. I urge everyone to come here as they used to in the past. We must show the world that our faith is strong and unshaken,” he said.
Acknowledging the government’s and Dharmarth Trust’s efforts in ensuring security and logistical support for the annual festival, Dr Singh expressed full confidence in the arrangements. “I have full faith in the system. All necessary measures are in place. People should come without fear and seek the blessings of the Goddess,” he added.
Dr Singh urged Kashmiris to move beyond the pain of past conflicts and unite for the region’s renewal. “Kashmiris have suffered deeply, but the time has come to rise again. By participating in religious and cultural events like this, we contribute to the rebuilding of Kashmir’s glory,” he said. [KNT]
