Ganapora Residents Decry Filthy Roads, Seek Action from Authorities

Kupwara, June 11, KNT: Residents of Ganapora village in Kralgund area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district have raised serious concerns over the dumping of cow dung and garbage along roadside stretches, saying the mess has created unsanitary and hazardous conditions.

Locals alleged that several households are carelessly discarding waste, including cow dung, on public roads, making it difficult for pedestrians and commuters. “The stench and filth have made life miserable. During rains, it spreads everywhere, posing health risks,” said Jahangir Ahmad, a resident.

Despite repeated complaints to the Rural Development Department and local Tehsil office, no action has been taken, residents said. They have now appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to intervene and ensure proper sanitation in the area. [KNT]
