Srinagar, July 22, KNT:  A 14-year-old boy from Farashgund Daharmunah area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district succumbed to injuries he had sustained in an electrocution incident, plunging the entire locality into deep mourning.

The deceased, Farhan Shabir Mir, had suffered a severe electric shock on Sunday evening and was rushed to SKIMS Soura in a critical condition. Despite being under intensive care for over 48 hours, Farhan passed away in the early hours of Tuesday. Hospital sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the boy had sustained extensive internal injuries and burns, and despite all possible medical interventions, he could not be revived.

This is the second fatal electrocution incident to have hit Daharmunah in recent weeks. Earlier, another youth from Paul Mohalla of the same village also lost his life to electrocution under similar circumstances, triggering widespread concern over electrical safety and infrastructure in the area.
