Sakina Itoo Slams Sunil Sharma over Statehood Remarks, Reminds him of Centre’s Promise

Srinagar, Oct 8, KNT: The Health Minister, Sakina Itoo, on Wednesday reiterated her demand for the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, while taking a sharp dig at Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma over his  remarks on the issue.
Sharma earlier at a press conference, stated that NC Government should not pitch for the restoration of statehood.

Talking to reporters in Srinagar, Sakina Itoo said the demand for statehood is not political rhetoric but a constitutional necessity. “Statehood must be restored without further delay. Even the Union Home Minister had promised its restoration on the floor of Parliament. Sunil Sharma doesn’t seem to know what he is talking about,” she said.

She said that political leaders should stop confusing people with inconsistent statements and instead focus on ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir regains its constitutional status and administrative autonomy. “This is about dignity and identity, not political games,” she added. [KNT]
