Officials said these changes are part of a planned maintenance and track inspection schedule aimed at ensuring long-term operational safety and reliability of the Valley’s railway network. “These temporary measures are necessary to facilitate essential maintenance work. Normal services will be restored once the block is completed,” an official from Northern Railways said.

Passengers have been advised to confirm the latest timings and operational details through official railway inquiry numbers or stations before commencing travel.

The Baramulla–Banihal railway corridor remains one of the Valley’s busiest routes, connecting north and south Kashmir and catering to thousands of commuters daily. The authorities assured that every effort is being made to minimize inconvenience to passengers during the block period. [KNT]
