Ganderbal, Nov 10, KNT: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Monday retrieved the body of a girl from the Hydropower Canal near Bela Wassan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Officials said the deceased has been identified as Ulfat Bano, daughter of Gul Rehman Khan, a local resident of Bela Wassan. She had reportedly jumped into the canal on Sunday, November 9, following which a search operation was launched by SDRF personnel in coordination with local police.

After continuous efforts, the team succeeded in locating and recovering the body from the canal on Monday morning. The body was subsequently handed over to the police for medico-legal formalities.
