Man dies after alleged jump into Jhelum at Sonwar Bridge


Srinagar, Dec 8, KNT: A man died on Monday after allegedly jumping into the River Jhelum from Sonwar Bridge in Srinagar, officials said.

According to initial information, the man fell into the river near Jhula Bridge, Sonwar, triggering an immediate response from local people, who managed to pull him out of the water. He was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for medical treatment.

Hospital sources said the man, whose identity has not been established yet, was brought to the hospital by a person. Doctors at SMHS declared the victim brought dead.

The deceased man, believed to be around 40 years of age, had allegedly jumped from Sonwar Bridge into the River Jhelum.
