NIA’s Pulwama Search Operations Focus on Relatives of Delhi Blast Accused

Pulwama, Dec 1, KNT: The National Investigation Agency on Monday carried out coordinated raids at multiple locations in Pulwama district as part of its widening investigation into the recent Delhi blast case, officials and local sources said.
The raids were conducted at three separate locations across the district, targeting residences linked to Dr Muzamil Shakeel, one of the accused in the case. Reliable sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that NIA teams first searched his family’s house in Koil village of Pulwama. Parallel operations were also carried out at the residence of his brother-in-law, Faizan Ahmad Sofi in Chandgam village and at the house of his cousin Amir Ahmad Rather in Malangpora.
Teams of central agency officers, accompanied by local police personnel, sealed the premises during search operations which lasted several hours at each location. Locals said that movement around the houses was restricted during the searches, drawing attention from the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Sources confirmed that electronic devices, including mobile phones and other digital equipment, along with handwritten notebooks and documents, were seized by the NIA teams for further examination. However, no arrests were made during the operations.
Officials said the raids were part of efforts to gather evidence and identify any operational or logistical support networks linked to the accused. Investigators are also scrutinising digital data to establish possible communication trails and financial transactions, if any.
Sources further indicated that more search operations may follow as the agency continues to identify persons who were in contact with the accused before and after the incident. [KNT]
