Srinagar Family Urges CM Omar Abdullah to Terminate Tehsildar Accused in Land Fraud

Srinagar, Dec 21, KNT: A family from Srinagar has appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to terminate Tehsildar Nusrat Aziz from service, alleging that she was involved in a major land fraud case in Sempora under Pantachowk Tehsil. The family said the officer, who has remained attached for years during investigation, must face dismissal along with cessation of all government benefits.

Mufti Manzoor, head of the affected family, said attachment cannot be considered punishment and insisted that termination and legal action are the only fair outcomes for what he described as serious corruption. He also sought strict action against other revenue officials and a property dealer identified as Riyaz Dral. According to him, granting bail to the accused was a setback for those who suffered heavy losses because of the fraud.

Manzoor said his relatives, identified as Nusrat Parveen and Rafi Manzoor, purchased 1.5 kanals of land each from the property dealer in Sempora. Another relative Hameeda Manzoor purchased 15 marlas in the same locality. The family said all payments were made through cheques and documentation was completed before they went abroad. Upon their return, they discovered that the seller, in alleged conspiracy with revenue officials including Tehsildar Nusrat Aziz, had manipulated official records and cancelled valid mutations, restoring the ownership rights in favour of the seller.

The family further claimed that one kanal of their land was allegedly gifted by Riyaz Dral to Tehsildar Nusrat Aziz. They said the case has been under investigation for several years and that the file containing details of the alleged wrongdoing is already with the Chief Minister’s office. The family expressed gratitude to the Srinagar Administration and the Crime Branch for pursuing the investigation but urged the Chief Minister to ensure decisive action against all accused.
