Class 10th Results: Kashmir Leads Jammu 87.63% to 77.89% as Girls Outperform Boys Across UT

Srinagar / Jammu, Jan 14, KNT: The Class 10th Annual Regular examination results declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education for the October-November 2025 session reveal a clear contrast in performance between the Kashmir and Jammu divisions, with Kashmir registering a significantly higher success rate.

According to the consolidated result data, an overall pass percentage of 85.03 percent was recorded across the Union Territory. Out of 94,845 students who appeared in the examination, 80,650 qualified. Girls performed better than boys, securing a pass percentage of 85.78 percent compared to 84.30 percent among boys.

The Kashmir Division recorded a pass percentage of 87.63 percent, with 60,927 students qualifying out of 69,525 who appeared. In contrast, the Jammu Division registered an overall pass percentage of 77.89 percent, as 19,723 students cleared the examination out of 25,320 candidates.

Subject-wise performance showed strong results in both divisions, though Kashmir maintained an edge. Social Studies and Urdu emerged as the top-performing subjects in Kashmir with pass percentages of 97 percent and 96 percent, respectively. Mathematics and Science in the division recorded 91 percent each. In Jammu, Social Studies led with a pass percentage of 93 percent, followed by Mathematics and Science at 87 percent each, while Urdu stood at 86 percent.

The grade distribution further reflected the performance gap. Across the Union Territory, 16,550 students secured A1 grade, while Kashmir alone accounted for 15,596 A1 grades compared to 954 in the Jammu Division. Similarly, higher numbers of B1 and B2 grades were recorded from Kashmir than Jammu.

Disciplinary and administrative cases were reported from both divisions. Across Jammu and Kashmir, 11 cases were marked under disputed eligibility, 33 examinations were cancelled and four students were disqualified for one year. Kashmir accounted for eight cancelled examinations and 36 cancelled subject results, while Jammu reported 25 cancelled examinations and 36 cancelled subject results. [KNT]
