NC dissolves Bandipora district committee, rescinds block president appointment
Sajjad Shafi Uri tasked with proposing new district leadership

Bandipora, Jan 7, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Wednesday dissolved its District Committee in Bandipora and rescinded a recent appointment of a block president, according to an official party order issued by the Provincial Secretary, Kashmir.
The order, issued in compliance with the directions of party president Farooq Abdullah, states that the District Committee JKNC Bandipora stands dissolved with immediate effect. It also cancels Order No. 01/DBP/25 dated December 26, 2025, through which Mushtaq Ahmad Wani had been appointed as Block President JKNC Bandipora.
As per the order, Zonal President JKNC North Zone and MLA, Sajjad Shafi Uri, has been entrusted with the responsibility of submitting a panel of at least two names for consideration for the post of District President JKNC Bandipora.
The panel is to be forwarded to the Provincial President JKNC Kashmir for further necessary action on or before January 31, 2026, the order specifies.

Party sources said the decision forms part of an internal organisational exercise aimed at strengthening the party structure at the district level and ensuring effective leadership.
Copies of the order have been circulated to senior party functionaries, including the vice-president, general secretary, additional general secretary, treasurer, chief spokesperson, and concerned zonal leadership for information and record. [KNT]
