Police Crackdown on Unregistered Migrant Workers in Jammu’s Bishna

Jammu, Jan 24, KNT: Police in the Bishna area of Jammu district on Saturday launched a crackdown on migrant workers and detained several labourers for failing to comply with mandatory registration and verification norms, officials said.

During the drive, police teams conducted checks at various locations and found multiple migrant labourers without proper registration or police verification. The labourers were subsequently detained for further verification and legal formalities.

Officials said the action was taken in continuation of earlier directions issued to migrant workers in Jammu, asking them to register themselves with the police station falling under their respective jurisdiction. The verification process, police said, is aimed at maintaining records and ensuring security.
