3 Persons Arrested; Vehicle and Motor Used in Illegal Extraction and Transportation of Minerals Seized

Awantipora 16 April :Acting on information regarding illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Lethpora along the river Jhelum, a police team of Police Station Awantipora, headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad, reached the spot and apprehended the persons involved in the unlawful activity.

All the accused persons were arrested on the spot. One vehicle (tipper) and a motor used in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals were seized.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 87/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Awantipora, and investigation has been set into motion.

Police have reiterated their commitment to take strict action against illegal mining activities and urged the general public to cooperate in curbing such offences.
