Jammu, May 1, KNT: Several persons are feared dead after a bridge collapsed near a petrol pump in the Bantalab area of Jammu on Friday, officials said.
Initial reports indicated that four to five persons may have lost their lives in the incident, though there was no official confirmation of casualties at the time of filing this report.
Eyewitnesses said the structure suddenly gave way, trapping people under debris and triggering panic in the area. Rescue teams, assisted by machinery, were seen clearing debris as locals gathered at the site.

Authorities have launched a rescue operation to trace any persons trapped beneath the collapsed structure.
