Crime Branch Chargesheets Three in Alleged Government Job Scam


Srinagar, May 1, KNT: The Special Crime Wing of the Crime Branch Jammu and Kashmir has filed a chargesheet in a case involving alleged fraud in the name of government jobs, naming three accused in connection with the scheme.
The chargesheet, filed before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar, relates to FIR No. 09/2019 registered under multiple sections of the Ranbir Penal Code, including cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
Those named in the case are Fayaz Ahmad Khan of Maloora Shalteng Srinagar, Showkat Ahmad Shah of Shanzipora Handwara, and Owais Ahmad Rather of Shalteng Khwaja Bagh Srinagar.
The case traces back to a complaint by residents of Pulwama who said they were asked to pay money on the promise that government jobs would be arranged for their children and relatives.

According to the investigation, the accused allegedly presented themselves as having influence within official circles and issued appointment orders claimed to be from the Forest Department. The documents were later found to be fake during verification.
Investigators said money was taken in cash, with assurances of entry into government service through unofficial means.
With the filing of the chargesheet, the matter will now proceed before the court for further hearing and examination of evidence. [KNT]
