Sopore, October 25: In a bid to curb social evils, prevent unlawful activities and ensure public safety, Sopore Police on Sunday launched an extensive naka checking and search drive across Police District Sopore with the assistance of the K-9 Squad.
Special nakas were established at various sensitive locations and vulnerable points falling under different police stations and police posts across the district.

During the drive, K-9 teams were deployed to conduct thorough checks of vehicles, luggage, parked vehicles and suspicious objects. The operation aimed to detect narcotics, illicit liquor, arms and ammunition, explosives, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other prohibited substances or materials.
The drive was part of the police’s efforts to strengthen security arrangements, maintain public order and prevent unlawful activities across the district.
Sopore Police has appealed to the general public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by sharing information about social crimes, suspicious activities or any other matter that could pose a threat to public safety.
Police have urged people to report such information promptly so that necessary action can be taken.
