Jammu: 1270 persons killed in 8546 road accidents in 5 years

Five districts of Jammu have recorded over 6000 road accidents in the last five years. These accidents have left over 1200 persons dead and over 8000 injured.

The official data from Traffic Police National Highway Ramban reveals that from 2018 to 2022, the districts of Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Reasi and Udhampur have witnessed 6001 road accidents in which 1270 persons have died and 8546 people have sustained injuries.

Traffic Police National Highway Ramban has provided the information to the query raised by social activist MM Shuja through the Right to Information Act.
