J&K’s Ramban faces power outage since midnight

This district Ramban of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a power outage following a breakdown at Grid Station Batote, leaving thousands of people without electricity.

Power has been out in many blocks of the district.

Locals told news agency Kashmir News Trust that scores of areas falling under the jurisdiction of Batote, Patnitop and Chanderkote are reeling under darkness since Sunday night.

Deputy Commissioner Ramban informed that all 33KV lines emanating from Grid Station Batote are off due to load constraints since 12 midnight.

He said that grid stations including Batote, Patnitop, and Chanderkote have been affected.

Electricity had still not been restored in many areas.

One of the officials from the Power Development Department said that they are on the job to restore the electricity.

“Shortly after the breakdown, engineers were pressed into the service who have been working since midnight to restore the electricity. [KNT]
