Army Soldier Dies in Accidental Firing Incident in Rajouri’s Dharamsal Area

Rajouri, July 6, KNT: An Army soldier lost his life on Sunday in an accidental firing incident in the Dharamsal area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, officials confirmed.

The deceased has been identified as Naik Ravi Kumar, a resident of Channi Prat. As per reports, the incident occurred when his service rifle went off unintentionally, resulting in critical injuries.

Fellow soldiers immediately rushed him to a nearby medical facility, but despite prompt medical attention, Kumar succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have termed it an unfortunate accident and said that a case has been registered. “A formal investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact sequence of events,” a police official said. [KNT]
